Now compare this with AT&T’s plans

Basically as follows

Pick a Voice plan
(Current individual plans on their website are as follows)

Nights/Weekends
Unlimited
M2M

450 Minutes (Nation)

$39.99 yes Includes 5000 yes

900 Minutes (Nation)

$59.99 yes yes yes

1350 Minutes (Nation)

$79.99 yes yes yes

Unlimited Minutes (Nation)

$99.99   yes yes

Add an “UNLIMITED” data plan at the following price points [from here]

Consumer $30/Month
and
Business $45/Month

This (For Consumers) puts UNLIMITED data in your hand for

$69.99/month

Which is still cheaper than Rogers 750MB Plan at $75/month

On top of this also consider that if the rumors are to be believed Rogers is charging the same price for the iPhone 3G that AT&T is (8G $199, 16G $299) The difference being that supposedly Rogers will lock you into a 3 year contract and AT&T only requires a 2 year contract.

Shame Rogers. For Shame. This is both a deal breaker and an insult to my intelligence. In a day in age when we can directly compare Apples to Apples (Pun intended) and providers still try to play the games and pretend that we don’t know(or can’t find out) what the service is really worth.

I want an iPhone more than anyone but given the difference between these Canadian prices and the US prices I’m going to have to hold off at least for the time being. I think I decide to give my cellular service to another provider in protest if things aren’t changed in short order.

wow, this is really disappointing. I’m going to hold off as well, I think. And I’ve been dying for one for years. :(
