Friday, August 29th, 2008

Your PS3 has a secret identity, by day it delights you with Blu-ray movies and HD Video Games. But when you’re not there your PS3 is watching over your living room. Or at least it could be if you want it to. What we’ll have at the end of this article is the ability to check out what’s happening in our living room live via a PSP wherever we have a wifi connection.

Bionic Commando - Debut Trailer

Gametrailers.com - Bionic Commando - Debut Trailer

Nostalgia sells. And Bionic Commando has HUGE nostalgia value for anyone who grew up in the NES era like I did. Bionic Bionic CommandoCommando was quite original for it’s time being that it was one of very few platformers in which you couldn’t jump (Which is where the bionic arm came in). The game was actually called “Top Secret: Hitler’s Revival” when it was originally released for the NES in Japan and was abound with Nazi imagery going so far as to have the Final Boss be Adolf Hitler. In the version released to the English speaking world The final boss was changed to “Master D” and the swastika was replaced with an Albatross logo.

The new-Gen version seem to keeps a little style from the original while severely updating it. Personally I wish they’d toned down Ladd Spencer’s bionic arm from what’s seen in the trailer. From the gameplay we see in the video it seems similar to the Spider-Man games of recent years. The game looks gorgeous (I’ve always been a sucker for the urban post-apocalyptic scenery though) with lots of background detail. If the gameplay’s even halfway decent then this will probably find it’s way onto my shelf for nostalgia purposes if nothing else.

A full 8 Minutes of Assassin’s Creed Gameplay

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Assassin’s Creed Montferrat WalkthroughI’ve finally had the time to watch the 8 minute “Montferrat walk through” for Assassin’s Creed that was released recently. I’m completely awestruck by the fluidity of this game. The attention to detail is just incredible from the subtle hand movements to the dust in the air to the actions of passer by. It feels like every part of the world Ubisoft has created here is alive and reacting to the player. This game is shaping up to be one of if not THE best game of the year if the gameplay delivers on what the trailers promise. If this game wasn’t already on your list of must have titles for 2007 then it will be after watching this video.

Rock Band, new tracklist

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

I’m starting to get really excited about Rock Band, especially after seeing this track list. It’s now on the definite buy list. Some of my favorite tracks are in here.
Creep, In Bloom, Cherub Rock the list goes on and on.
If you could add any track what would it be. Personally I’d like something from Gorillaz, maybe “Kids with Guns” or “D.A.R.E.” Or Sloan , “Money City Maniacs” would be epic!
Check out the whole list after the jump. Joystiq[via]

“Going down in video game history”

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Well said Aaron but not for the reasons you’ve implied. These words were uttered by Aaron Greenberg from the Xbox team over IM to “Godfree” from Gamertag Radio in regards to a surprise announcement that was going to be made in New York today at the Pac-Man World Championships. (See full quote HERE )

Well today the announcement was made as promised and it certainly may go down in history but not in the positive way Aaron portrayed it but as one of the dumbest PR overstatements ever.
